All of the books and links relevant to this web site were removed by us because we felt that the Affiliate Program with Barnes and Noble.com was not working properly.  In the period from January 1999 until October 1999, we had 2,842 books that were considered for purchase by you the web site visitor.  Of these 2,842 books, Barnes and Noble advised us that only 32 had been purchased by you the web site visitor.  That translates into a 1.16% sales rate.  It is our opinion, that this is not even remotely possible.  We feel that Barnes and Noble has in some way miscalculated or did not report all sales transactions.  Members of the Barnes and Noble Affiliate Program, have no way of verifying if Barnes and Nobles has made any mistakes (intentional or otherwise).  This Affiliate Program requires that the members have complete and total trust in the Barnes and Noble organization.  Since they control all computers and track all sales, it is quite possible for them to generate any kind of sales report for us members that they feel is acceptable.  Since we don't have the complete trust in Barnes and Noble, we have elected to withdraw from the program.

In addition, Barnes and Noble.com offered us a meager 5% of the sale of any book that was purchased thru our web site.  In light of  Barnes and Nobles huge 95% profit for a book that was sold thru our web site, we decided this was another valid reason to discontinue the program until a day when a fair profit could be given to the web site owners.

We encourage you to contact Barnes and Noble Affiliate Program, and express your opinion in this matter.  We feel that providing you with the books that you are searching for is very important.  Not only on our web site, but on all web sites.  However, until online stores begin to offer a reasonable incentive for selling their products, we (and other web sites) will boycott these various affiliate programs.
